VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

 

Volcanoes National Park lies in northwestern Rwanda and is known as a haven for the mountain gorilla. It is estimated that fewer than 900 mountain gorillas remain.

Day 1: Arusha to Kigali

This day you will depart from Arusha or the Serengeti and fly to Kigali. You will be met by your local driver guide, lunch in town and then drive two hours to Ruhengeri and the Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge. (All Inclusive).

Day 2: Ruhengeri to Kigali

This day you will have an early breakfast then drive to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters. Here you will be allocated your group and guide for your gorilla trek. The trekking can take several hours and climb to altitudes in excess of 7,500 feet.Your guide will go through an orientation on gorilla etiquette. Return to Lodge for lunch and shower. After lunch depart for Kigali and the Serena Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day 3: Day in Kigali and Transfer to Kigali Airport

This day after breakfast visit the genocide museum. Lunch at the Rwanda Hotel then return to Serena Hotel for packing and rest. Late afternoon transfer to Kigali International Airport. Check in for your flight and departure back home.

**This is a perfect add on to safari, but you should note you will depart from Kigali, Rwanda back to your home. Gorilla trekking can be extended for two days.
